Financial Assistance

 
 
In keeping with its Charitable Aims & Objectives, KCA Mumbai is pleased to announce the launch of its Financial Assistance schemes for the poor & needy.  

The two broad areas that are covered are as follows:


A. Education Assistance
   i. to deserving individuals – for lower, higher, and technical education
  ii. to deserving institutions or schools – for purchase of school furniture, books, materials etc

B. Medical Assistance
   i. to deserving individuals – for emergency medical procedures or long-term illness 
  ii. to deserving institutions or hospitals – for purchase of medical equipment, supplies etc

A transparent process is followed for the grant of Financial Assistance & the schemes are administered by the Social and Charitable Sub-Committee, under the overall guidance of the Managing Council.
 
The guidelines, eligibility criteria & rules for the disbursement of financial assistance under the above schemes is explained further below.

Filled up application forms must be submitted to the KCA office with all supporting documents.
A: Education Assistance
 
i) For Individuals
 
Guidelines for grant of Educational Assistance by the KCA:

1. Assistance will be provided to deserving individuals for lower, higher, and technical education, irrespective of caste, creed or religion

2. Focus will be to assist individuals pursuing technical education, skill based courses or professional courses; only courses provided by Institutions in India will be covered.

3. Individual assistance will range from Rs 5,000 to Rs 25,000; higher amounts may be considered but will not exceed Rs 50,000/- per annum

4. An individual can request for support in each of the years of the course and will need to resubmit all the required documents, each year

5. All decisions taken by the Social & Charitable Sub-committee of the KCA will be final & binding on the applicant

6. In special circumstances, if a larger amount is requested and found justified, the same will need to be put up to the Managing Council of the KCA for approval

7. All bills presented have to be within the current financial year. No backdated cases will be accepted.
 
B: The following documents to be submitted with the application:

1. Prescribed application form complete in all respects.

2. Copy of the proof of admission to the educational course.

3. Copy of the qualifying exam mark sheet

4. Letter from the Educational Institution verifying course fees or photocopy of receipt of fees paid

5. Letter from one of the persons recommending the applicant, attesting to the applicant’s inability to pay the course fees

6. Identification documents – including birth certificate, Ration Card, PAN Card and Aadhar Card

7. Copy of latest bank statement / passbook, attested to by Bank Branch Manager (to be submitted for applicant + both parents / guardians, wherever applicable)


ii) For Institutions or Schools

B: Medical Assistance 

 
i) For Individuals
 
Guidelines for grant of Medical Assistance by the KCA: 
 

1. Assistance will be provided to deserving individuals for emergency medical procedures, hospitalisation or long-term medical treatment, irrespective of caste, creed or religion

2. All payments will be made post hospitalisation / medical treatment / emergency procedures provided all the necessary bills are submitted and verified  

 
3. Individual assistance will range from Rs 5,000 to Rs 25,000; higher amounts may be considered but will not exceed Rs 50,000/- per annum

4. An individual can request for support in subsequent years and will need to resubmit all the required documents, each year


5. All decisions taken by the Social & Charitable Sub-committee of the KCA will be final & binding on the applicant

6. In special circumstances, if a larger amount is requested and found justified, the same will need to be put up to the Managing Council of the KCA for approval

7. All bills presented have to be within the current financial year. No backdated cases will be accepted.

B: The following documents to be submitted with the application:

1. Prescribed application form complete in all respects.

2. Letter from the Doctor or Hospital confirming estimated cost of treatment

3. Copies of Bills or Medical records confirming illness & recommended treatment.

4. Letter from one of the persons recommending the applicant, attesting to the applicant’s inability to pay for the recommended medical treatment

5. Identification documents – including birth certificate, Ration Card, PAN Card and Aadhar Card

6. Copy of latest bank statement / passbook, attested to by Bank Branch Manager (to be submitted for applicant +spouse / parents / children / guardians, wherever applicable)



ii) For Institutions or Hospitals
The common application forms for Institutions can be downloaded from the bottom of this page. They can also be collected from the KCA Mumbai office

Common Guidelines for grant of Educational or Medical Assistance to Institutions by the KCA: 

1.       Cover Letter along with Application Form & all supporting documents to be submitted by the applicant Institution to the following address:

2.       Additional documents and / or personal meetings may be sought at the discretion of the Social & Charitable Sub-committee

3.       Assistance to any single institution will range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 100,000; Maximum donation in any financial year will not exceed Rs 100,000

4.       In special circumstances, if a larger amount is requested and found justified, the same will need to be put up to the Managing Council of the KCA for approval

5.       All decisions taken by the Social & Charitable Sub-committee of the KCA are final & binding
