The arrival of monsoon rains, reverberating thunder clouds, moist laden cool winds, the lisping patter of rains, brings with it, the onset of the Raindrops Monsoon Social at KCA, Mumbai. An annual feature, in our social calendar, for the last three years, the Raindrops Monsoon Social, which was celebrated on July 7, 2018, was attended by over 200 Members, their families, friends, and children at the premises of KCA, Mumbai.
The latest issue of Amchi Khobor i.e., Vol. 3, Issue No. 2, our quarterly news magazine, with its theme based on ‘Governance‘ was released by Mr. John D’Silva, Life Member of KCA, Mumbai, and Doyen of Co-operative Banking, at the Raindrops Monsoon Social. A literary tribute, by Dr. Jeanette Pinto, to the life, works, and contribution of Mr. John D’Silva, is featured in the latest issue of the Amchi Khobor.
In keeping with the tradition of encompassing a special event at the Raindrops Monsoon Social, the Managing Council of KCA, Mumbai, launched the KCA Counseling Centre with the objective to “collect and study social facts and social problems”, and help address various mental and psychiatric needs of the community, by providing them with professional counseling services.
Ms. Deepika Lobo, Chairperson of the KCA Counseling Centre, addressed the gathering with insights into the working of the KCA Counseling Centre, the channels available for availing professional counseling services, and the association with Majlis (Majlis is a forum for women’s rights, offering legal services, legal awareness trainings, etc., committed to informing, educating, and empowering women on their legal rights) to assist the women in our community, on any legal issues.
With FIFA World Cup gripping interests of football enthusiasts, the Cultural and Recreation Team made arrangements for Members and Guests to watch live coverage of the football match between England and Sweden, amidst the ongoing celebrations of the Raindrops Monsoon Social.
The husband wife duo of ‘Michael and Sunita’, renowned for their rendition of good live music and entertainment at many a five star hotels, clubs and gymkhanas, kicked off the merriment for the evening with their repertoire of live music performances, regaling the gathering, and making it a memorable evening of collective celebration.
Amidst the celebrations, Members and Guests, were served with beverages, and a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers. Alwyn Rodrigues, Life Member of KCA, Mumbai, and Proprietor of AL-RON Caterers, together with his team, laid buffet counters with sumptuous cuisines and delicacies, which were savoured by Members, their families, and friends.
